April 18th 2014 sees the release of Lumina, a new album of orchestral recordings of Liam’s best-known songs which have been arranged by Mark Cahill. Familiar songs like ‘The Clouds Veil’, ‘Voice of an Angel’ and ‘There is a Place’ which have touched so many of us in the past are now presented anew in beautiful instrumental arrangements by Mark Cahill and are superbly performed by the Prague FILMharmonic Orchestra. Featured among other instrumental solos is the haunting performance of Nigel Davey, the great traditional box accordion player, on ‘The Hiding Place’.
Lumina is a must for all Liam Lawton fans, but also for anyone who seeks a place of solace and rest.

Liam Lawton
Liam is a Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin South of Dublin. He currently holds the position of Director of Sacred Music in his Diocese, He resides in Carlow, Ireland and also works as a composer / performer offering Workshops and Concerts with his own unique style of music which has become repertoire for Choirs and individuals throughout the world.
He has recorded 15 collections to date with a number of them achieving Platinum status. A number of artists at home and abroad have recorded his material and his liturgical works have been translated into many languages. His music has been performed for many State occasions in Ireland and elsewhere.
His work and performances have brought him to many world stages such as Carnegie Hall, New York, Chicago Symphony Hall. Annahiem Convention Centre Los Angeles, National Concert Hall Dublin, The Paul VI Auditorium at the Vatican, The White House and many of the world’s sacred sites.
Liam has recorded a number of TV specials and his works have been narrated by such greats as Gregory Peck, Frank McCourt, Joan Cusack, John Malkovitch and Mick Lally of the Abbey theatre in Dublin.
In June 2012 Liam was one of the people invited to perform at the International Eucharistic Congress held in Dublin, singing his own compositions before a live audience of 75,000 people and a televised audience of 200 million. His Mass setting’ The Glendalough Mass’ was sung at the final Eucharist in Croke Park.
His second book ”Where God Hides” has just been reprinted and was preceded by his other best seller ”The Hope Prayer”.
The last few months have been extremely busy for Liam which has included recording a new Christmas album and a special new Orchestral collection of his best known songs. November and December will see him tour in the UK and Ireland. In October he recorded a new TV special to be aired at a later date.
Some of his music has been selected by a leading international recording artist and will be recorded over the next few months and he has just finished writing some new music for the Disney Corporation.
Now the latest from Liam Lawton comes a unique collection of orchestral music. Lumina is a beautiful recording of some of Liam’s best-known songs arranged by Mark Cahill.
